Software is eating the world, and digital transformation discussions once limited to the board rooms, are not at the top priority for the leadership teams. Today for every business leader, Digital Transformation is a means to either sustain the business amidst the pandemic or develop a strategic advantage against the competition. Business Leaders today realize the importance of agility and adaptability, the need for making the digital the DNA of the organization, and the role of No-Code Citizen Development in achieving the same.
Today any software including, but not limited to, enterprise business applications, websites, mobile apps, newsletters, and chatbots, can be built with clicks within hours and days without even writing any code!
To educate and empower future business leaders, Quixy has been conducting a series of complimentary workshops for leading business schools to evangelize the importance of No-Code Citizen Development and prepare them for their role as future business leaders. The workshops provide an overview of the business objectives every business leader cares for today and how digital transformation powered by no-code citizen development is pivotal to achieving those objectives.

Most of the participants in these workshops did not have any prior coding experience and were able to derive value from participation while appreciating the role of no-code citizen development.
Here’s a rough outline of the workshop:
Let’s dig deeper into each topic covered as part of the workshop.
The workshop invites participants’ views on what they think are the top objectives for business leaders. They participate in a live poll to post their opinion.
Irrespective of the industry, the objectives of any business leader are typically the same. These include:
It is nearly impossible for a business to survive without taking profitability into account. The success of a business is largely measured by the amount of profit it generates.
Business productivity is directly proportional to efficiency. It measures how efficiently the business meets its goals.
It is essential for the business to improve the top-line and bottom-line revenues simultaneously by expanding the existing customer base and other options.
By ensuring customer satisfaction, a business can drive higher profits. It indicates customer loyalty, an increase in revenue, and customer retention.
Employees are the backbone of any business. If the employees are not happy in their workplace, employee turnover will increase, and productivity will decrease.
Business leaders should take active measures to meet community issues. Implementing social and public responsibility makes the company accountable to itself, its customers, and its stakeholders.
The attendees discuss these objectives in detail and express their thoughts on each.

This segment covers what Digital Transformation is and why it’s pivotal today to help business leaders achieve their objectives.
Digital transformation is the process through which digital technologies are utilized to bring change (digitize) to the organizational, cultural, and operational structure of an organization.
As per Gartner, “It’s the process of exploiting digital technologies and supporting capabilities to create a robust new digital business model.”
It is a revolution, a trend that has changed the world for good. It is designing a road map for future businesses. It also gives a competitive advantage in enhancing their decision culture.
Digital transformation’s advantages and business objectives go hand in hand. There is a direct link between the Digital transformation benefits and the objective a business leader wishes to achieve for the success of the business.

Before the COVID era, few of the leading companies in the world were already reaping the benefits of digital transformation. By digitizing themselves, they have pushed their businesses forward and achieved great and unimaginable heights. These include companies like Netflix, Nike, Starbucks, Lego, and Ikea, to name a few. COVID has paved the way for companies to switch to this all-digital mode, however forcefully. This has helped businesses in keeping up with their ever-changing needs.
Workshop participants also discuss how most industries, including education, retail and medical, were forced to adopt technology to stay relevant amidst the pandemic.
The pandemic made everyone realize that digital transformations can help businesses succeed in even the most trying times. Amid the COVID-19 lockdown, a lot of businesses came to a standstill. Only those organizations that were agile and adaptable were able to switch to digital fast, overcome the challenges, and survive the hard times. The adoption of digital also made it possible for employees to work from the safety of their homes through the automation of all work-related workflows and processes.
“All organizations are probably to some degree adaptive, but their improvement and adaptation are typically only periodic and conducted by specialists (central IT teams). In other words, such organizations are not by their nature adaptive.” – Mike Rother, Toyota Kata
For a company, including all its departments, to be truly agile and adaptable, DIGITAL MUST BECOME PART OF YOUR DNA with every employee adopting digital technologies. Unless everyone in the organization is empowered to use some form of digital technology to bring about improvements in how they perform their day-to-day work, one can never truly become adaptive as an organization.
The perfect solution to the problem is the democratization of software development through No-Code Citizen Development. No-Code platform allows business users to bring change and find solutions for their unique problems without depending on IT.
No-Code development is a process where business users with no technical background, aka citizen developers, can use a simple drag-and-drop mechanism to build business software.
“Drag, drop, and implement”– the difficult is done at once; the impossible takes a little longer!
Today citizen developers can literally build anything using no-code. In this segment, workshop participants discuss each no-code category in detail to appreciate the true ability of No-Code.
In this segment, the participants were divided into multiple smaller teams who experienced Quixy’s award-winning no-code platform in action, where they choose a use case and then automated it on the platform in under an hour. The participants understand how they can use various aspects of the no-code platform, including the WYSIWYG drag-and-drop form builder, workflows, business rules, data tables, reports, and dashboards to build simple to complex business applications without writing a single line of code.
Some examples of applications that have been built so far include a library management system, visitor management system, leave management app, college admission management system, etc.
At the end of this segment, the teams discussed their experiences and their learnings from the session as they appreciate the power of no-code after witnessing its speed, freedom to innovate, and adaptability! With no-code Citizen Development, they are able to see an opportunity to grow and innovate their future businesses, ventures, or the companies they would work for.
The session ends with a live Q&A where the Quixy team answers questions from the participants.
So far, these workshops have been very well received. Here are some of the testimonials.
