In the previous six editions, Governance Now has successfully engaged IT experts from top PSU, prominent technology solution providers and the community to address the digital transformation needs of government units.
Various technology vendors and eminent IT experts came together to be a part of one of the five-panel discussions organized to express viewpoints, gaps and strategies that can be implemented. Quixy, a leading no-code app development platform enabling business users to build and manage applications without writing any code, participated as the application development partner for the event.
The focused sectors that drove the conversations for digital transformation were Oil & Gas, Power and Energy, Manufacturing, Service, and Defense. The key discussion area revolved around enhancing the indigenous capabilities of PSUs, Digital Analytics, Cyber Security, Augmented reality, Artificial intelligence and the like.
During the event, Mr Manish Grover, Executive Director, Indian Oil Corporation, talked about the four pillars of successfully transforming business, i.e., Analytics, emerging technology, custom tools and effective change management. According to him, the participation of employees right from the ideation stage can help extract the real value from the business transformation initiatives. He also emphasized democratizing data and the importance of data-driven decision-making. In addition, he mentioned how operational excellence could help reduce overhead costs and deliver value.
While continuing the conversation, Mr Aashish Patel, General Manager (IS), HPCL, expressed the downside of employees working in silos. His idea of building a pilot project before implementation shed light on building an effective solution. User involvement is crucial in solution development as it works as fuel to their creative side. With lots of ideas coming from users, no-code, low-code tools can bridge the IT shortage gap and can help in building the right solutions for users, by users themselves.
While addressing the audience in the panel discussion, Raveesh Reddy, Vice President – Sales and Partnerships Quixy, shared, “Every industry needs custom solutions that fit its unique requirements and address the pain points of its business users. The problem can be solved by involving business users in the solution-building process, and this is where I believe no-code can play a major role.”
The event successfully brought out the need for PSUs to modernize their operations and cloud infrastructure. Individuals contributing ideas towards building solutions can be leveraged by PSUs to drive higher values and democratization of data can help governments units to take right decision at the right time.
